英国留学：ISEB Pre-Test越来越被私立学校认可了吗? ISEB Pre-Test不是所谓的升学考试，而是越来越多的中学用来作为13+(9年级)录取学生标准之一的一项测试(It is a test used by more and more middle schools as one of the criteria for admission to 13 + (Grade 9))，部分学校会将其设置为第一个门槛。近年来，它越来越成为13+主流测试项目(In recent years, it has increasingly become the mainstream test project of 13 +)，但ISEB Pre-Test每个学生每个学年只可以考一次。对于出国留学的同学们来说还是至关重要的。
ISEB全称为Independent Schools Examinations Board。顾名思义，它是专门为英国私立学校服务的考试机构(As its name suggests, it is an examination institution dedicated to British private schools)，它下面有一项近年来被越来越多的私校所认可的考试，叫ISEB Pre-Test。
这项考试不仅对中国家庭概念生疏(This exam is not only unfamiliar with the concept of Chinese family)，即使在英国也常常在家长群中引起恐慌。主要原因是:
1.考试时间早(The examination time is early)，很多家庭措手不及;
2.对其考试内容缺乏理解(Lack of understanding of the test content),没有过往试卷可以参考;
3.不同的私立中学，对这项考试的时间要求不一样(Different private middle schools have different time requirements for this examination)，成绩在最终录取决定中的作用也不一样;4.该项考试仅在近几年才成为主流.
考试作用:
ISEB Pre-Test是为申请英国私立中学的一种考试，由GL考试机构制定。它不是所谓的“升学考试”(It is not the so-called “entrance examination“)，而是越来越多的中学用来作为13+(9年级)录取学生标准之一的一项测试。
有些中国的机构，把它称之为“英国的小升初统考”，这个理解是不正确的。
有些学校将它作为第一个门槛，就是在所有几百上千报名学生中(Some schools use it as the first threshold, that is, among all hundreds and thousands of students)，参考ISEB Pre-Test 考试成绩，来决定哪些学生可以进入下一轮的中学自身的面试和笔试。
有些学校会把它作为衡量标准之一，但不以它进行筛选(Some schools will take it as one of the criteria, but do not screen it)，所有学生提交该成绩，所有学生都参加中学自身的面试笔试，之后把ISEB Pre-Test 的成绩作为考虑因素之一，来做出最终决定。
哪些学校需要ISEB Pre-Test :
并不是所有私立中学都需要ISEB Pre-Test的成绩(Not all private secondary schools need ISEB pre test scores)，目前为止有近50所中学。但是这个数字在逐年增加，很多院校是在近五年内才开始使用ISEB Pre-Test ，它也越来越成为13+主流测试项目。
比如，伊顿2018年入学的新生，曾是第一批需要测试ISEB Pre-Test 的申请人。
Winchester一直没有使用，它可以说是仍旧不用ISEB Pre-Test学校中名气较大的一所。然而Winchester今年发出通知，对于目前正在申请的2022年入学的学生(However, Winchester issued a notice this year for students currently applying for admission in 2022)，也将要求有ISEB Pre-Test的成绩。随着Winchester的加入，可以说，较好的公学已经全部步入了ISEB Pre-Test 的队伍中。
目前入学需要ISEB Pre-Test成绩的学校，包括Brighton,Charterhouse，City of London,Eton,StPaul’ s,Tonbridge, Westminster等近50所。
考试时间:
虽然是为13+(9年级)的升学考试，但是，大多需要ISEB Pre-Test成绩的中学(Most secondary schools that need ISEB pre test scores)，要求学生在6年级或7年级，就是10-12岁之间，进行该测试。
因此，ISEB Pre-Test的考试时间，是在13+升学的前2-3年。如果家长学生不了解这个情况，没有提前准备(If parents and students do not understand this situation, they do not prepare in advance)，往往会措手不及，最终影响孩子升学结果。
lSEB Pre-lest每个学生每个学年只可以考一次。
考试后，该考生已经申请的需要ISEB Pre-Test成绩的学校(The school that the candidate has applied for needs ISEB pre test scores)，可以通过考生号码，直接收到成绩。
每个学校要求收到ISEB Pre-Test的时间不一样。最早的在6年级的第一个学期(The earliest is in the first semester of grade 6)，因此家长必须了解每个中学的特殊要求。比如:伊顿中学要求在6年级第一个学期结束前(12月以前)收到ISEB Pre-Test成绩。Marlborough要求在7年级第一或者第二个学期收到这个成绩。
报名考试:
学生可以通过现在所在学校，或者自己报名参加ISEB Pre-Test的考试(Students can pass the current school or sign up for the ISEB pre test)，报名时，只需写明所申请学校中的一所，其它学校自动会收到成绩。填写哪一所学校的名字，完全没有关系。
测试内容:
lSEBPre-Test是计算机测试，随机出题，多项选择题(Random questions, multiple-choice questions)，共有四门:文字逻辑Verbal Reasoning - 36分钟
非文字逻辑Non-verbal Reasoning - 32分钟英语–—25分钟
数学-—50分钟
四门考试可以同一天考完，也可以分几天考试。
机考的题目是随着学生答题的正确率随机应变的，正确率越高，题目会越来越难(The questions of computer-based examination are flexible with the correct rate of students‘ answers. The higher the correct rate, the more difficult the questions will be)，正确率低，题目会更容易。特别提醒:考试时学生不能返回修改前面已经回答的问题。
测试结果:
测试结果按照考生的年龄调整后(同一学年，8月底出生和9月初出生的学生，在成绩上的处理，有所不同)，放在如下图的标准线上，与同一学年全部英国私校学生的成绩进行比较(Put it on the standard line as shown in the figure below and compare it with the scores of all British private school students in the same academic year)，SAS(Standard Age Score)100分是平均成绩，而竞争力最强的私校，往往要120以上，甚至更高。
