Harrow 公学，申请2022年入学Year 9的学生，注册将在2020年5月1日截至(For students applying for year 9 in 2022, registration will end on May 1, 2020)，每年招收160名左右的学生，但申请人数一般会有600左右，录取率26%左右。
伦敦预备小学Kensington Prep的校长表示：申请者太多，而私校的位置又是有限的。很多中学的申请人数都翻倍了(The location of private schools is limited. The number of applicants in many middle schools has doubled)，往年可能只有300个学生参加入学考试，现在已经高达600-700个学生申请考试。
西敏公学的招生官John Curtis：13+入学，学校对外开放的名额有95个，但注册的学生就有500名左右(The school has 95 places open to the outside world, but there are about 500 registered students)，在500名注册的学生参加ISEB的预测试，250名通过进入下一阶段。淘汰率高达50%，可见竞争激烈的程度。
圣保罗公学招生官Andy Mayfield：每年有约600名学生竞争90个名额。当注册的人数从400上升到600的时候，我们就没办法面试每个人了(When the number of registered people rises from 400 to 600, we can‘t interview everyone)，因而必须想办法筛选，让这个数量只有350左右，ISEB的Pre-test(预测试)就是一种很好的方式。
ISEB 预考的适用学校

如何准备ISEB Pre-test
ISEB pre-test考试每部分的考试时间是固定的，并且答题时，孩子一旦选择了答案，就不能回过去更改，很考验孩子们的速度以及做题准确度(And when answering questions, once the children choose the answer, they can‘t go back and change it, which is a test of the children‘s speed and accuracy)，ISEB考试题目是自适性的，如果连续答对题目，下来的题目会逐渐增加难度，反之亦然。
ISEB pre-test的目的是考察学生的当前学术水平以及未来的学术能力(Examine students‘ current academic level and future academic ability)，所以ISEB不提供样题，学生也不被学校建议做过多准备，但是事实上，ISEB pre-test近年来要求准确度和速度越来越高，孩子若没有经过系统培训和考前辅导(If the child has not undergone systematic training and pre exam counseling)，通过考试不是件容易的事情。
ISEB pre-test对数学和英语的考察，并不遵循英国教育部门的教学大纲，孩子要超前学习一至两年的公立学校的课程(Instead of following the syllabus of the British education department, children have to study public school courses one to two years in advance);图形推理和文字推理的考察内容，对国内的家长来说更是一团雾水。孩子至少要对这些考试的题型有很好的了解。
