Edexcel爱德思考试局有2种Alevel课程，一种是GCE Alevel(本土版)，一种是International Alevel(国际版)，简称IAL，咱们国内的爱德思中心开设的基本上都是IAL(It‘s called ial for short. Basically, all of our domestic Edwards centers are opened in ial)。
这两种Alevel同属于爱德思考试局，他们的区别大吗?
在2013年之前，还没有International Alevel这个课程(Before 2013, there was no international alevel course)，在那个时候，无论在英国还是国内学爱德思Alevel，大家学的都是GCE Alevel。
2013年爱德思开设了一个国际版的Alevel，专门给国际学生学，这个就是大家现在在国内学习的IAL(It is specially for international students. This is the ial we are studying in China)。
今天，就针对Edexcel爱德思旗下的这两种Alevel课程来给大家科普下二者的区别。
区别一：科目数量不同
就科目数量来看，GCE Alevel的科目数量要多于IAL。
IAL仅有21门科目可供选择，而GCE Alevel有超过40门科目。
区别二：考试形式不同
由于是针对国际生，因此IAL的考试形式更加灵活(As it is aimed at international students, the examination form of ial is more flexible)，IAL每年有三次考试机会，分别为1月，6月和10月。
而GCE Alevel则是在学完2年课程之后统一参加考试，其实也就说只有一次考试机会，这点和咱们的高考类似。
除了考试时间不同，2种Alevel的考试形式也有很大的区别(In addition to the different test time, the two alevel test forms are also very different)，IAL是分单元参加考试，这其实是有利于国际考生的，因为分单元考试可以让考生们在短期内针对某一个单元的内容集中学习备考，考过了就可以开始新内容的学习，不存在最后大考前需要复习2年课程的情况(After the exam, you can start learning new content. There is no need to review the 2-year course before the final exam)。
然而GCE Alevel两年考一次的考试形式也不是完全没有优点，考生们有两年的时间来消化吸收知识点(The examination form is not completely without advantages. Candidates have two years to digest and absorb knowledge points)，有更充足的时间来复习备考和查漏补缺，而且对知识点的举一反三和综合应用能力更能得到提高。
区别三：管理者不同
GCE Alevel的管理者是Ofqual(英国资格认证和考试管理办公室)，而IAL的管理者是培生爱德思。
这就是为什么在一波三折的2020,年，我们看到本土Alevel考试变动的官方通知都是由Ofqual发布(We see that the official notices of changes in local alevel exams are issued by Ofqual)，而IAL相关通知都是由Edexcel考试局发布的。
难度区别大吗?
两种Alevel难度差别不大，即使在某年考试出现了难度差异(The two kinds of alevel have little difference in difficulty, even if there is a difficulty difference in a certain year‘s exam,)，考试局也可以通过分数线来调节这种差异，因此，无论学习哪一种，你拿到的成绩等级是大致相同的。
