　　01课程内容差异

　　CAIE考试局IGCSE化学主要内容包含14个大类：物质的微粒性质;实验技术;原子、元素和化合物;化学计量学;电和化学;化学能量学;化学反应等(The particulate nature of the substance; Experimental technology; Atoms, elements and compounds; stoichiometry; Electricity and chemistry; Chemical energetics; Chemical reaction, etc)。

　　EdexcelIG化学分为四个模块：化学原理、无机化学、物理化学、有机化学。每个模块下又有其他的子主题，例如大气中的气体、烷类等等(There are other sub topics under each module, such as gases in the atmosphere, alkanes, etc)。

　　总的来说两个考试局整体的内容上差别不大，更大的差异在结构设置上。

　　剑桥考试局的IG化学有核心和拓展两个分级，而Edexcel的IG化学没有分级，所有学生的学习内容都是一样的(The learning content of all students is the same)。

　　02考试内容差异

　　CAIE化学考试与课程结构一致分为两个级别，核心考试最高等级为C，拓展考试最高等级为A*(The highest level of the core test is C, and the highest level of the expansion test is a*)，两个级别考试都要考三张paper。

　　学生如果参加CAIE的考试，考试次数更多，而且三张试卷考查的问题类型各不相同，其中包括选择题、理论题、以及单独的实验考核等(Moreover, the types of questions examined in the three papers are different, including multiple-choice questions, theoretical questions, and separate experimental examination)，Edexcel把所有题型融合在一张试卷中，试卷中题目的难度与分值都是递增的。

　　CAIE选择题卷一共有40道选择题，考试时间45分钟;理论题卷，主要是简答题和结构化问题，所有题目都是必答题(Mainly short answer questions and structured questions. All questions are required)，考试时间是1小时15分钟，试卷5/6考查的都是实验技能，此外还有以笔试形式进行的试卷6。

　　Edexcel的IG化学共考两张paper，两张试卷的评分范围相同，没有分级(The two papers have the same scoring range and are not graded)，试卷1考试时间2小时，试卷2考试时间1小时15分钟，试卷2比试卷1考查的内容范围更广，难度也更大。

　　对于两大考试局的试卷难度，一些学生反馈CAIE考试局更难，不过难度问题因人而异，事实上二者并不相差太多(Some students reported that caie is more difficult, but the difficulty varies from person to person. In fact, there is not much difference between the two)，同学们在选择时最重要的还是看哪个考试局的课程和考试结构更适合自己。选择适合自己的考试局并为之奋斗总归会有好结果的。
