　　Kwabena Amporful

　　校友 Kwabena Amporful 是加纳 SOS-Hermann Gmeiner 国际学院的一名优秀毕业生。他在美国的 Hampshire College 完成了自己的学士学位，又在斯坦福大学修完了MBA。毕业后，他正式进入纽约美林证券公司，成为一名股票分析师，开始了自己的金融生涯。而在工作期间，他开始对教育和技能发展产生浓厚的兴趣。

　　We are proudly telling the world about our alumni in our 50th anniversary year. Featured alumnus KwabenaAmporful is a graduate of SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, Ghana. He completed his B.A. studies at Hampshire College, and his MBA at Stanford University, both in the United States. He began his finance career in New York City as an equity analyst at then-Merrill Lynch (now Bank of America Merrill Lynch), during which time he also developed an interest in education and skills development.

　　刚开始，Kwabena Amporful 在旧金山的 Imprint Capital(现叫高盛|AIMS印记)公司从事影响力投资，之后他返回阿克拉(加纳共和国首都)帮助筹集三千四百多万美金的非洲农业基金，用于投资鼓励中小型企业。

　　He worked in impact investing with San Francisco-based Imprint Capital (now Goldman Sachs | AIMS Imprint), before returning to Accra to help raise a $34 million African Agriculture Fund to invest in small and medium enterprises.

　　在阿克拉，Kwabena 于斯坦福发展经济创新研究所(SEED)在西非设立的第一个全球创新中心担任顾问，并继续支持非洲私募股权基金的发展。

　　In Accra, Kwabena served as a consultant to Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies (SEED) in the setup of SEEDs first global innovation center in West Africa, and continues to support the formation of Africa-focused private equity funds.

　　He also founded Institute of Teacher Education and Development (INTED), which works to professional learning communities in schools across Ghana, and co-founded Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Africa, a corporate leadership development nonprofit organization for young Africans.

　　Q：为什么一开始就决定攻读IB学位?

　　A：坦白地讲，我很幸运能进入这家学院。一开始我只是觉得IB课程是我IGCSE课程之后的一个备选方案，现在回头想想，攻读IB至少在两方面深深影响了我。

　　第一，高等数学和经济学课程让我的兴趣从科学领域转到现在所从事的商业领域。

　　第二，作为CAS(创新Creativity，活动Activity，服务Service)的一部分，我们学校的社区项目让我始终对社会发展项目保持浓厚的兴趣，这也促使我参与教师教育和发展学会(INTED)和非洲教育机会赞助商(SEO)创立工作的原因，而INTED和SEO也都得到高中和IB同学的大力支持。在从事了15年的金融和投资工作后，我现在对企业家技能发展非常感兴趣。它专注于企业家技能发展、优质中学教育和商业技巧方面。

　　Q：让你印象最深的是哪位老师?

　　A：这个问题太难了，印象最深的话应该是 Mr. Donkor , 我的数学老师，他的从第一原则出发的数学方法让我非常受用。然而，我所受到的大部分有益影响都在课堂之外。比如 Mr. Michael Djan , Mrs. Margaret Nkrumah , Mr. Isaac Quist , 和 NiiAmaa Akita，他们都鼓励我学以致用，回报自己的祖国非洲。但对我影响最大的，直到现在都还支持我个人和职业发展的人无疑是 Mr. Israel TitiOfei。
